Charles-Jean Hallo, was a french painter, draftsman, illustrator, engraver and  photographer born January 1882 and died December 1969. The son of a soldier, he spent his childhood in Dijon where he attended college between St. Ignatius and then at the School of Fine Arts of the same city. He finished his studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he studied under Charles Cottet and Jacques - Emile Blanche. In 1907 he exhibited at the annual exhibition of the National Society of Fine Arts.
